Shopping Story(one time, one chance's challenge)
So, it’s the biggest shopping day of the year. I find myself standing in line at FYE . I’ve been waiting in line to reserve my copy of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End for an hour now. I’m tapping my foot in time to our marching band music while fingering the notes as a symptom of boredom. After a while, I am now getting antsy.
I look up to the front of the line and see that there is a Grandpa buying five movies and a cd at the register. He is emptying the change of his wallet onto the counter to get just the right amount. Exasperated, I sigh loudly. A homebody mother two spaces up looks at me like I’m the devil’s child. Finally, after going through the whole marching show 52 times, I get to the front.
“Hi, I’d like to reserve a copy of Pirates 3 please.”
” Oh, I’m sorry, the mother a couple turns ago just took the last reservation.”
This, my friends, is why I never go shopping the day after Thanksgiving.
