As The Stars Fall
We laid there together under the nights sky, looking up. He wouldnt be with me for much longer. He’d be on a journey in life as a NewYorker, and me? I’d be stuck here, home sweet Alabama. I turned to look at him, his gaze was in the stars. “What are you looking at?”I asked sadly. “The stars.” he replied dimily. I turned to look up at the stars, how bight they were and how many there were. “Im gonna miss you.” I said my voice filling with more sadness. “Mhmm.” he replied. I felt the hot tears trickle down my face. “Im sorry, it’s just I cant believe I’ll be without you.” he said studying my face. “I no, me either.” He engulfed me in a hug as we laid there. More tears trickled down my eyes as we both focused our gazes on the stars. “Theres something about the stars tonight.” I said. “I no, like there dimming.” he said sadly. He always loved the stars. We looked up into the sky, millions of stars fell.
