Second Best part 8

A long silence went by as we walked and I smoked. I flicked the cigarette out of my hand and watched as its orange glow slowly burned out on the pavement ahead of us. I didn’t know what to say and I don’t think he did either. We were two blocks away from my house when suddenly he grabs my hand and our fingers intertwined. It shocked me at first, and then it was nice. There we were just the two of us walking in the moonlight hand in hand and not saying a word just enjoying this wonderful moment between us. If I didn’t believe in love at first sight before I sure did now. If this wasn’t love then what was it? At that moment I didn’t want to answer that question because I wanted this to be more than just a high school crush I wanted this to be real. I looked at him in the dark and I could see him smiling. I looked up in the sky and smiled too. This was real I could feel it deep down in my heart.
