Ficlets

Ahead of Me

“Back off man.” Said a farmilar voice.
“Mitch!!” I hissed and pulled him aside. “What the heck are you doing here?!?!?” I asked like an impatient mother.

“That guy was ALL over you! His hands were absoulutely everywhere! I was protecting you.” He answered quietly.

“I don’t need someone to protect me! I’ve been doing fine and what do you care anyway?” I asked again.

“We are like family. I don’t want anything to hurt you.”

“Mitch, you did a pretty good job of letting Ty hurt me.” I turned away.

“Ohh, c’mon Linz. I was confused then and I help you out all the time. All I was doing was simply helping you.” Mitch turned me to face where Ethan and me had been standing. In Ethan’s arms was another pretty blonde, soaking up his attention.

“Whatever. How did you even get here?” I was holding back the tears I thought had gone with Ty. They were back and this time for Ethan. “I’m leaving, see ya later.” I turned yet again and briskly walked out the door. I had a long walk ahead of me.
