She Wanted Someone Who Understood
She wants someone broken. She wanted someone that she could hold, someone that she could mend, someone that she could fix, because she could not fix herself. She wanted someone like herself.
That’s why she adopted little Gracie Elisabeth. Born to a crack addicted mother and a drug dealer father little Gracie stood no chance of survival. But even as an infant little Grace was a fighter. As she turn three she fought, she fought her illnesses, her abusive father, mother and “aunts” and “uncles” that visited at odd hours.
But in the end she was broken and unable to heal the hurt in her heart, in her soul. At the end of the day she was the only four year old that came home from school to a house full of bruises and bottles. At the end of the day she cried into her pillow and whispered thoughts of suicide that no little child should know of.
She wants someone broken. She needed someone who understood. So together they were just what the other needed, someone to heal, someone to be their. Together they are.
