Yeah, but Goldman is really not a hack, at least to me. The other guy… I’m still debating. Death Proof certainly didn’t help me like him, though.

Ah, I liked both parts of Grindhouse; it especially helped if you saw them in the theater. But I think we absolutely agree on Goldman, he’s a fantastic screenwriter and an exceptionally good novelist.

Really, Howie? I saw Grindhouse in the theatre and — after the amazing Planet Terror — I thought Death Proof was a sleeper.

I liked Planet Terror more when I was watching it, but remembered Death Proof better. It’s weird. DP is talkier, and takes longer to get going, but ends up being kind of impressive as a whole.
But hey, the truly best part of Grindhouse was the trailers. Don’t!

Yeah, those trailers were amazing. Eli Roth — who I’m certainly not predisposed to like — delivered a true masterpiece with his Thanksgiving trailer. And Rob Zombie made me laugh quite a bit with his.

Wow, after reading all the comments, I forgot what I was going to say about the ficlet. Oh yeah, funny divergent take on Yoda’s story.
