Blood diamonds (it's over, I swear)

One hundred thousand children have estimated as children soldiers in Africa during mid-2004.Campaigns by Global Exchange and Amnesty International against conflict diamonds threatened to relate the thought of diamonds to the mental image of a child amputeeā€™s stump of an arm. Enough said.
This is not the first time that a war has broken loose in Africa over raw materials. It has happened before with ivory and gold.
Many important organizations, assemblies and groups have tried passing laws, resolutions and acts, but nothing has worked so far. Many smuggling rings have been busted but still conflict diamonds keep slipping through the cracks. It seems the only way to cease the flow of illegal diamonds is to stop conflict in the concerned areas.
