Twitch and the Two-leg
Twitch looked down at the snow covered ground imploringly, tail twitching behind him. The army of huge, two legged creatures had just passed, leaving a myriad of cold, wet prints in the formerly pristine white of last night’s snowfall. The big yellow caterpillar that ate the Two-leggeds had recently left, the coast clear for an experienced scout like himself. Picking through the remains of the snow, he spied a small bird, some tawny colored thing that forgot to fly home for the winter. Twitch froze, and just as he tensed to spring on it, a tardy Two-legged thing, shorter than most, ran out in to the open, startling the bird, and Twitch. who bounded backwards from whence he came. The Two-legged cried out, an unearthly screech of “KITTY!”, before chasing after the fleeing scout. Across the snowfield, over the log, up, up! Right over the fence he ran, much to the Two-legged’s dismay. Twitch disappeared, right in to the shadows of the bushes. Yet another, slim winter night ahead.
