Horror House (part four)
Chapter one: The Beginning (cont.)
“Mom? Dad? Annie?â? My shaking voice echoed through the empty house. I was scared to death. I hear Annie’s playful laugh.
“Annie?!â? I gasped. I followed her voice to a hall closet. She was in there playing with a shoelace.
“Icky! Icky!â? she squealed with delight when I opened the door. My eyes filled with tears. A flash of lightning had lightened up the house. Once it went off I noticed how dark it really was in the house. Annie put her hands in the air showing me she wanted to be picked up. I picked her up and she laid her head on my shoulder. I knew she was scared. I walked through the house trying to ignore the fact that I was scared, too. Every step I took, Annie felt lighter in my hands. I looked at her to see if she was all right. But, it wasn’t her I saw, it was a sand bag and I was holding it upside down. I threw the bag on the floor and started retracing my steps to try to find her. I couldn’t find her anywhere.
