Poem (READ IT! MY FRIEND NEEDS FEEDBACK)
Okay. Okay. Poem, no title, one that my friend wanted me to give her feedback on before she gave it to her 16 year old boyfriend, but I’m cheating. You gimme feedback from a 16 year old’s perspective. You that write first person stories, you know how.
My inspiration, my dedication
My dearest loving guy
I’m not a poet anymore
But at least I can try.
My peace, my love, my greatest joy
Not a man, but not a boy
If I lost you, they’d lose me
You and I were meant to be
Anyone could tell you that fact
If they watched the way we act
When we’re together, time stands still,
Everything freezes, if you will.
Not my best work, I’ll admit.
The thought still counts, doesn’t it?
no, that’s always a lie…
Ah, well, at least I tried.
