The Cliff (Uselessness's Pure Dialogue Ficlet Challenge )
“Where are you taking me mr. R?”
“I’m taking you home, Sam. You’re expected.”
“Well, like I told you, I was on my way when I got lost and now… and now, well, nothing looks the same…
Oh my! This is absolutely beautiful. Isn’t it beautiful mr. R?”
“It’s always beautiful.”
“You’ve been to this cliff before?”
“Many times with many people.”
“How do I know your name? I don’t remember ever meeting you… but I know your name. I must be mistaken.”
“All of life knows death, Sam. I’m here to lead you back from whence you came. You were fatally struck by a car.”
“What?”
“You no longer walk among the living. Your soul is due for judgement in the air between heaven and hell—the air that shifts beyond the foot hold of this cliff.”
