Sunshine
soft and golden
trickling through the window
I caress faces and brighten rooms.
like a ray
I go on forever
until Moon hikes high into my world—
my beautiful blue kingdom.
I’ll tickle your nose until it’s pink
with one flick of my long, spindly fingers
I could have you turned red.
but I’ll stay
sweet and loving
glinting golden in the morning world—
anyone can tell you
that I
am Sunshine.
