Error, Error

“How the hell that happen?” Mason asked. “My wife has been dead for three years. My God. Kevin never met her. He doesn’t know anything about her. The team was recruited after she died.”

“I understand,” Juno said. “Kevin was just following the protocols of the team. There’s no way in hell to think this is intentional. The data speaks for itself. It’s just one of the anomalies that pop up when you do this kind of work.”

“My wife’s name appearing in a data stream as a set of encoded binary numbers is impossible. It’s laughable. Someone is trying to cripple this project by attacking me. This is a message. A warning.” Mason was now pacing around the lab. He really needed a smoke now more than ever, but unfortunately he quit six months ago. “Who has the access and the know-how to sabotage the project?”

“You can’t be serious. We hand-picked our team. They are loyal to a fault. Kevin would die if he thought you suspected him of anything like this. It’s just not possible.”

“We’ll see,” Mason said.
