Beyond The Open Window
“Keep up!” I yelled. My brother and I decided to take a walk in the forest.
“Hi,” he said.
“Listen, I have no time for your stupid games, okay?” He wasn’t listening, but looking straight ahead. “Okay?” I said even louder. He pointed his finger straight forward and said, “Look, Sydney.”
Strangely, I did what he said and looked. It was a house, small and deteriorated. He started running toward the house but I caught him right in time. “I wanna see the house!” he screamed. But I wasn’t listening. I was focused on my thoughts.
Suddenly, I was in a trance I started moving forward, my eyes locked on the house.I put Jeffery down and kept walking.I walked to the window at the side of the house and looked in.
It was like a reflection, but its wasn’t me who was staring back.It was a small girl, pale and weak.I couldn’t move away tho my body froze. She stared at me and It was like I could read her mind. Help, she was saying.I wanted to help and I reached out my hand and never came back.
