When blogs roamed the earth
It’s my theory that the tedious post is what killed the blog. That and the fact that the bridge syndrome (everybody’s doing it!) wore thin. Really, it was the John Q. Public that spends 23 of their 24 daily hours seated in a “Precious Moments” themed office cubicle, that pulled the trigger. If you didn’t enjoy living it, then why in the world would we enjoy reading it?
So blogs have indeed fallen from grace (though they’re not extinct), and at the moment that suits me just fine. I’ve recently started my own, and have already met a critic who said “blogs are old news”. I however disagree. The online diary will never really get old, as long as people are nosey. Besides, if they’re not popular, then you can’t be accused of hitching a ride on a fad, correct?
This “slackerramblings.blogspot.com” is my blog, and I’m fine with it. It helps me vent, and hopefully, the wandering viewer can get a chuckle out of my life. So I say, if you read em, or write em, don’t let the knuckle draggers put you down for it.
