I love the detail in this. My only wonder is why no police or neighbors have come to remove the body?

This would be why it hasn’t run out of batteries? If your life doesn’t affect the life of anybody else on a regular basis, Nobody will notice you are dead untill a neighbor notices the smell, or the bills are so overdue they come to arrest you. Unnerving.

Technology has the ability to isolate humans from one another, as well as bring them together. I can see how a world might develop where droids and computers make it easy for someone to stay home and never relate to the outside world. A person can survive in a small apartment or house and never have to leave it, never have to speak to anyone ever again. Just hang with his droid and order take-out.

I am slightly ashamed to say that I hadn’t even noticed someone had written a sequel to my original story. Now I have discovered it, I have to say I love it – save for the change from present to past tense it continues the story wonderfully. Superb!
