That was jaw-dropping. It took me a bit after I finished reading to realize what had actually happened, and my mouth actually hung open for a bit.
In my opinion, at least for this subject, that makes it REALLY good writing.

They are completely correct. I certainly thought you were talking about drawing blood or something. It’s subtle, but very good!!

Very dramatic and straight forward. This is the tip of an iceberg, makes me imagine many scenarios. Loved it.

Oh my god! It took me a moment, but then I got it and then, wow. At first I was thinking, hospital or something…my god. Great writing, scary, powerful.
