Ficlets

Role the Die

I write poems when I’m sad, I’ll write poems when I’m mad.
I often feel if I go out I’ll just about explode,
So I write my poems while my mind tries to reload.
Don’t judge my temperament.

Wisdom says that life is something like a game,
win some lose some, try to cheat, but your playing all the same.
I know this isnt a game, even though all you see are smiles.
You say its so simple, although all I see are dials.

I think I’ve lost the instructions to this ‘game’, ‘cause they’re not here.
And so I must rely on you, despite my greatest fear.
If you say fight, I’ll fight; but no matter what, I’m never right.

Like way back when I thought this was a game.
So did ‘he’. Thats why I quit.
But like I said, no matter what I choose, I’m always deep in…confusion :}
So I locked away all passion.
