The Calm Before The Storm - Part 1
The man approached him.
“Trying to kill me, eh, boy?â? he said with a grin.
Jeffery was shocked. “No! That was an accident! I have no idea what-“
“I know, I know. That was the power you now have. We need to teach you to be able to control it, and use it properly.
We should both get some rest. Your real training begins tomorrow. Follow me, I’ll show you where we’re staying.â?
Jeffery followed the man through the forest, down a long, winding path. The large amount of undergrowth made it difficult to follow the path without getting lost.
It was getting dark now. The canopy above didn’t even allow the slightest amount of moonlight to pierce it. Strangely enough, Jeffery could see quite clearly, even in the dark.
How? How was that possible? I shouldn’t be able to see right now, he thought. It’s dark. Things don’t work that way. Eventually they reached the cabin.
If Jeffery could have seen into the future, he would never have entered that cabin. He would have turned and ran.
