Written during a break from writing a paper (on Phillip K. Dick’s ‘do androids dream of electric sheep?’ of all things) and as imperfect as humanity. With Boston’s current marriage history in mind, as well as the implications long considered in artificial relationships.
It seems this is about falling out of android love, regret, and sadness. My favorite part was being able to tell her robotic partner to shut down- she needed alone time. One benefit of having a robotic partner I suppose…
Kudos for taking the same-gender tack when no one else has. Why not tackle two taboos at once. And I like the psychology of inner conflict over what could have been and what is and what that means to the current relationship—very real feelings in a fantastical setting, the hallmark of good sci-fi.
