I Can't Run In These Shoes
“I mean, how can he even let that girl be all over him like that?! Doesn’t she know that he’s mine even when we’re not together?!” I was furious. It was only a week after we broke up and he was already dancing with some girl.
“Y-yeah. How could he.” Kaitlyn replied in monotone.
“What’s wrong?” something was up. “Are you cold? Where’d you put your sweater?”
“I forgot it back at the party.”
“Well, lets go get it then. My parents won’t drop dead if we’re three minutes past curfew.” I turned on my heel and started back down the block.
“Can we hurry just in case? I don’t want to get in trouble..”
“Do I look like I can run in these shoes?” I pointed to my wedge heels.
She just looked away, looking pretty mad. “Oh fine! I’ll take them off and run, happy?!”
“Thank you.”
I put my hand on her shoulder and took my extremely cute shoes off. “You owe me,” I said as we ran back down the block.
