She looked in his eyes and could see that all he was saying was sincere. A tear fell down her face, followed by several more. She put her head down and covered her face with her hands. She didn’t know how to handle this. She picked her head up and wiped the tears from her face. “Look Jay, I – I need to go home. I need to think about what you just said and how I’ve felt these past two years. I still have your number, unless it’s changed.â€?
“No, it’s still the same.â€?
“Good, I’ll call you when I’m ready to talk.â€?
“I’m not in town long. I’m only here for the weekend. I’m actually looking for an apartment here, I am moving back to LA. My firm wants me to head up the company here.â€?
“Well, ummm I’ll call you.â€? She quickly turned and ran back to her apartment.
She got in the house and leaned against the door and cried. She didn’t know what else to do.
