I missed you!
My eyes land upon his lanky figure and it seems as though I’ve sucked the air out of the room. “Ted!”
He doesn’t seem to see me. In my utterly enamored state, it doesn’t bother me. I run toward him, at which point he looks up with brown bespectacled eyes and smiles his confident smile. “Hey.”
“Gosh, it’s been forever.”
“It really has been too long. I missed you! Have you any idea how boring life is when you have no one on your intellectual plane with which to relate?”
“Yes. I don’t want to go back there. I really missed you, Ted.”
Silences are rare between us, considering we both adore to talk, both love an audience, but they do happen on the occaisional awkward moment when neither of us know what to tell the other first. This was one of those moments.
“So…I have a secret.”
What? I puzzle. Ted doesn’t often tell me anything flat out. He likes to make me think, which I love. So why then, does it appear that he intends to tell me a secret?
