Carefull
I walked Connor to the nurse. He walked right next to me and would brush against me every other step. “That was a nice fall, by the way.” I started the conversation carefully.
“Yeah well, I’m the smoothest guy you’ll ever meet.”
“Yes, I bet you are.” I replied. He grinned and I felt like hitting myself in the face. That was a stupid, stupid remark.
We came out of the nurse. Connor had on the stupidest looking band-aid I had ever seen in my life on his cheek. It was a Dora band-aid and I don’t think the nurse really put it on right but heck, I can’t say anything becuase I’m not a nurse and she wouldn’t listen anyway.
We walked up the stairs. I stopped by my locker and Connor stopped with me.
“Heyy Gina, I think the band-aids coming off. Will you fix it?”
“Umm sure.” I gently then began to fix the band-aid on his face. I carefully looked around the edges and then into Connor’s eyes. I then saw the crinkle in the band-aid. But I didn’t see the most important thing of all.
