She turned and faced him. The rain was pelting down now and she had started to cry. If she was happy or sad, she didn’t know yet.

“Will you marry me?” he asked.

These words- what he had practiced saying for hours at a time at home- came out with ease. He knew she was the one and she knew that he was the one. This was his fairy-tale ending.

“What took you so long?” she questioned with a smile.

“Yes.” she said. “The answer has always been yes!”

He walked over and picked her up and together they walked in the rain, one of the happiest moments in both of their lives.
It was just them now, together forever.
