Emma Jo's Thirteenth
“Woo hoo!” Thirteen. I never thought I’d see the day. And now that I’m here, I’m not quite as excited as I thought I’d be.
I feel the same. I look the same. Same blue eyes and curly hair. I think the same. I still think Avril Levine’s “Girlfriend” is the stupidest song in the world, although it’s fun to dance to it.
Well, you know, they say that the biggest changes happen on the inside. Or at least, it sounds like something that They would say. My resolutions for my thirteenth year include:
—Learning to keep my room clean (I could be fourteen, or possibly seventeen, before this happens.)
—Writing in my journal everyday (Because I have an awful memory, and I don’t like to forget things when I feel that life is going so fast.)
—Being kinder to my little sisters (Although maybe they don’t deserve it, because they didn’t buy me presents…Well, I’ll give ‘em the benefit of the doubt.)
Wish me luck as I journey through year 13. It could be a toughie, but I doubt it’ll be boring.
