Sam & Friends: The Distinguished Guest: A Tribute to Kermit The Frog
“He has been a star for 50 years. He’s an author, game show panelist, TV and movie actor, guest host on talk shows, a commencement speaker at a University, he even has an honorary doctorate in Amphibian Letters,” said Sam, the master of ceremonies.
“Not only that, but our esteemed guest tonight is an Oscar nominated singer with 2,352 siblings.”
“He started out humbly as a cub reporter, interviewing minor celebrities, wearing his now famous trench coat.
I am one of his oldest and dearest friends. This room tonight is full of those who know him best. From his days as a lowly stage manager for a theater that had seen better days,” Sam continued, looking out at all those assembled to honor their distinguished Guest of Honor.
“Back in the days as a long suffering stage manager, he often got no respect and his actors and stage crew ran amok. They played to a sparse and almost non existent audience.”
“And so without further adieu, I give you Kermit The Frog.”
Pandemonium ensued as he walked to the mic.
