Here Goes Nothing

I stood up and looked around. We had landed in the forest. Trees towered around me, leafy and green. Sunlight slanted through the leaves, dappling the ground. It was beautiful here. I could hear the chirp of birds and the scurrying of little creatures like rabbits and squirrels. What a pretty place.

When I turned around, my Fairy Godmother was waving her wand and muttering to herself. “Colorswirl, colorswirl...” Then she stopped. “Destiny dear, would you do me a favor? Come here and stand still.”

Curiously, I did as she asked.

“Now…one, two, THREE !” she cried. On three, a million little clear slivers flew from all corners of the forest and collected into my open palms.

“Thank you, dear. Now I’ll just have to mend the colorswirl…it should be done within a few weeks,” she informed me, taking the broken bubble out of my arms. “And now, come inside with me…”

I turned around, and there stood a small, lopsided house, smoke curling out of the chimney.

Here goes nothing.
