The next day at school, I apologized to Allie. She said it was fine. end of that. Then I told her what Max said. She said she didn’t like him, but would go out with him. So basically, she is willing to break his heart just to be part of the “thems”. The thems are a special clique that only the elite couples are allowed to join. Allie and Max would be considered “elite”. The thems go on group dates and have inside jokes the rest of us would die to know. Getting into the thems is like a life goal for some people. Allie is definitly part of the group. She is the most desperate person, yet lovable person. She will do anything to climb the ever growing social ladder.
Later that day, I saw Max.
“Hey” he said with his adorable smile.
“Hi!” I felt like a five year old at a candy store- filled with indescribable joy.
“So whats Allies favorite color?” Again I felt like a five year. only this time her dog died.
“Red.”
“Figures. Hyper and fun. Dramatic and loving.” He said to himself.
Wow. Max was really serious.
