No Heros Amongst Thieves pt.2

Alodie, childless and far from any friends or family of her own, had been picked apart and put back together but Irving’s seven sisters to their approval. They instructed her on what to wear and how to have her hair. In constant attempt to make Alodie’s beauty unnoticeable compared to their material ideals. Nevertheless, there she stood. A hallow of rain encircled her head and spilled from her cheeks along with salty tears. Alodie was young and naive but felt her guidance would always flow strongly from Irving. This tragedy was slowly tearing her world apart. Alodie and Irving had agreed not to try to have any children until the new house had been build but this information had been kept secret. The family tradition was to have the first child within the maiden year of marriage. This would keep the sisters quiet for a while if they believed an heir was on the way but if a baby bump did not appear (which it wouldn’t) much argument would be had as to who truly deserved the fortune.
