The people who immigrated to Mars were bathed in a weakened acid to rid themselves of any remaining bacteria and simple form of Enzimaë. Few people died in the trip from Earth. They arrived burnt, bald, thin and clad in thick woollen cloaks. Their cloths had been burnt and the ashes ejected from the Athmoship after their acid bath.
The people lived peacefully on Mars for the next two hundred years until several smaller acts of government pleaded to the descendant party that was the World Government (now the System Government) to send expedition to Earth for water to inhabit further planets because of the ever-growing population. After further debate, the System Government relented and a list was made of the possible planets.
