Now, it was during the spring of 2603 (spring on Mars) that construction began on the Triplet Project (Titan, Europa and Himalia). Mars and Phobos had barely enough water to survive so an expedition of highly trained staff would be sent to hook up the pipes to transport the water from Earth. A level of distrust still kept the workers from considering such a task. Although it was almost four hundred years ago, the fate of all 90 000 workers on the super-barges that transported those dead to US shores was still a fresh wound that would not be easily forgotten. The government got the picture and an impossibly high payment of 60 000Ҝ per worker was offered. Greed drove people to the government like flies to jam and soon, there were more than enough eager men and women to continue. Jesse over-heard this plan through one of his many spy chains on Mars. He figured this; no matter how innocent, this would have some hidden fate in store for the workers.
