Sequelitis
“I don’t get it.”
“What don’t you get?”
“Y’know that ficlet I wrote the other day? Well, someone wants a sequel.”
“They want a sequel?”
“Apparently.”
“They want a sequel.”
“Again, yes.”
“Well, why don’t they write their own?”
“That’s what I was thinking. I mean, isn’t this supposed to be a collaborative writing website?”
“It is a bit, yes.”
“So they could write their own sequel?”
“Yes, they could.”
“So why don’t thy?”
“I’unno. Maybe, and this is a bit of a long shot I know, but maybe they like your writing…”
“Well that’s just stupid.”
”...and they want to see where your mind will take the idea, instead of accidentally break it themselves.”
“Yeah, definitely stupid.”
“Well, do you write sequels and prequels to other peoples’ ficlets?”
“Not very often. Not as often as I should.”
“And why don’t you?”
“Because I’m interested in seeing where the original author want to take the… oh, now I see.”
“So are you going to write a sequel, or what?”
“Hmm. I’ll think about it.”
