Lily looked out the window as her mom drove her and Anna home. She didn’t know what she was looking for. She was just watching for something to catch her attention. Anything to get the past couple hours out of her head.

“Lily, I have to work tonight. I wouldn’t go, but I have no choice in the matter. Are you going to be okay?” Lily’s mom asked her.

“Oh, umm, yeah. Yeah I’ll be perfectly fine.” Lily stumbled over her lie.

“You know, I’m sure my parents wouldn’t care if Lily slept over” Anna’s voice came from the back seat.

“You know what Anna, I think that would be good for Lily, just make sure you both get some sleep, it’s been a long day.” Lily’s mom concluded.

“That sounds cool.” Lily said, relieved. She wan’t sure it was safe to be all alone yet.

When Lily got home she grabbed her stuff and walked over to Anna’s house. Before she left, she decided she was going to change into a tank top. She hadn’t worn one in forever. Now that the truth was out, she didn’t have to hide anymore.
