Interlude(The Calm Before The Storm - Part 4)

Jeffery was pleased to find that the room behind the door was normal. A good change of pace from all that had happened. He laughed. His life and views of it had been completely changed in a single day.

He stopped laughing, and it seemed that, in the quiet of night, in the strange forest, all sound made would echo around the world and back again.

A comfortable looking bed sat waiting in the corner, its sheets perfectly stretched across the mattress without a single crease. It reminded him of his wife, and how picky she was about such things. He started to feel homesick, but brushed it aside, as there was no room for thoughts like that, now. Still, he missed her..

On the opposite side of the room was a dresser and a mirror. The mirror had a gold frame with beautifully crafted roses made of silver bordering it in a criss-cross pattern. He lay down on the bed, and immediately fell asleep.

He dreamt of the man, terrorizing a village, tearing the limbs from children. Though he wanted to, he did not wake.
