New Years' Day

“Denise! Wake up!” he whispered.
She jumped onto the floor and crawled back into her bed.
“Denise, please, we need to talk! I want you to forgive me!” he whispered.
She got under her sheets and wipe the tears from her eyes.
“Denise, please…”
She slowly got up and peeked outside her window, to see him pacing.

“Are you talking to yourself Mr. Scott?” said Miss Rabia.
“No, Miss, I’m sorry did I wake you?”
“Yes, you did, Trev, now run along, Denise is probably sleep and doesnt need to be bother with your foolishness. Its 3 in the morning, sonny. Go to bed.”
Denise snickered as she watch Trevor get yelled at by her neighbor, sweet Miss Rabia.

“Trevor?” I said to him as he walk across the street.
“Denise? You heard me? Come down here please?”
“Why? Our traditions has been broken. You have made your choice.” said Denise.
“Denise, its not like that. Its more than that.”
“Goodnight Trevor, I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Denise, please dont go.”
“Yes.”
“Let me explain. Come take a walk with me.”
