Freaky. I remember those days, staying up to ungodly hours in front of the computer, tiptoeing to bed moments before my parents’ alarm sounded. Not necessarily something to be proud about, and I still stay up ridiculously late at the computer, but the situation’s a bit different now that I’m a grown-up and I live on my own. :-) It’s true that bleary, sleepy eyes tend to see apparitions in dark corners at that hour, I know it all too well. Nice idea for a story!
