Effecting Society
As the candle burns down to the end
There’s this feeling inside that won’t seem to bend,
Entranced, in a dance, these thoughts, these words,
Dying to get out, dying to be heard.
Too much to feel, bursting out the seems,
If only I could tell you
I feel ready to scream.
Playing this game, this game called life,
How do you block it out, the pain and the strife?
Has society so deemed
everyone to be machine?
Can’t we live, can’t we dream?
Boundries and rules restrict us,
Say, “You behave quite rediculous!”
Do I really, can it be?
Are you seriously talking to me?
You and your delicate structures, I have my own plans;
Won’t you leave me that, I know you can.
Until you do, know for your part,
This completely drains my heart.
