Sigh

‘Another night watching movies by myself’ thought Jan as she pressed the start button on her microwave. She walked out of the kitchen to grab a movie from the shelf.

“Lets see, Dirty Dancing or Some Like it Hot?” Jan says outloud, “What do you think?”

“Hmm….I dunno. We watched both those movies last week. Don’t you think we should try something new?”

“I rather like familiarity thank you”

“Well I say familiarity is boring”

“Oh, who asked you…Argh! Snap out of it” Jan grabs a movie of the shelf; She doesn’t care which one it is as she pops the DVD into the player. Suddenly she smells it.

Rushing to the kitchen she opens the microwave. Smoke piles out as she begins to open the window.

“You burnt the popcorn didn’t you?”

She knows the voice is made up, still she replies “yeah…”
