The Verdict
April and her mother return to the courtroom after the break.
They are seated in the first row this time. Luckily from this row they cannot see Mark.
The judge has opened the trial back up.
“Jurors, have you reached a verdict?” She asks, as she’s looking over to the panel.
The lead juror stands up and reads the verdict.
“We,the peple , find the defendant, Mark Solomon, Guilty of domestic violence and child endangerment.”
“Members of the Jury, thank you for your hard work, and your contribution to this case, you are now dismissed.” The Judge declared.
“A sentence hearing will commence, tomorrow at noon.” Proclaimed the judge.
“As of right now, this case is closed!” The judge ends the session with admonishment of the gavel.
There is a dull roar of chatter within the courtroom. The witnesses and Jurors begin talking among their little circles.
The bailiff quietly escorts David out of the room.
April and Toni don’t see this happen. Their lawyer is distracting them with idle conversation.
