There was no shining armor, nor a golden steed, but you were more than twice the prince I had ever imagined in my dreams, and you saved me from a deathly fate I once believed was my only true destiny. You were crystal light against black sky cascading down from a Heaven I didn’t believe in.

You were all brown eyes and dark skin and big smiles -a complete contrast to who I was. But somehow you broke through the hard, statuesque contours of my demeanor, and filled my heart with joy and love.

You taught me how to smile again, how to laugh, how to love, how to feel, and you mended all of my broken pieces back together seamlessly. You made me happy, you made me whole.

But, not even our love could fill the three hundred mile gap between us.
