Bubbles
I floated deep below the surface, moving slowly to keep myself down and clutching my camera in one hand. I looked up: feet and legs, kicking or splashing, moving slowly below the water. Sound was muted down their: all I heard was the soft noise as I let my breath out-whoosh-and all I saw was blue and the bubbles from my breath.
Bubbles are funny things: just little balls of air underwater, rushing to join the air above. But before they reached the surface, if you could freeze the moment, they were beautiful. And you could make them, simply by breathing out. In scientific form, they were bundles of CO2 molecules that were less dense than air- but I didn’t think about that. I thought about freezing the moment. And the thing is, you can.
I raised my camera and took the shot, then kicked strongly towards the surface, rising with the bubbles.
