The Life and Death of Pepper Catly (Part 3)
He also brought much trouble when he came into our lives. Besides the stinky wet cat sleeping on our furniture, he also wasn’t a very friendly little creature. He would tolerate being petted for about five minutes before he’d stand up and bite the person who was petting him and walk away. He beat up one of our other cats repeatedly and brought many fleas to our household. We ended up getting him a flea collar, which he proceeded to find a way to rip off outside. He was too cool for that.
He also bit and/or scratched almost everyone he met. I couldn’t stop laughing when my mom told me that he bit a drunk that lived across the street.
We grew very worried about him when he tried to take on an animal, presumably a raccoon roaming the neighborhood, and lost. That very raccoon killed our neighbor’s cat.
Pepper came into the house smelling worse than ever with his face severely swollen and his ear almost entirely ripped off. It scared me to think that he might not make it but he slowly began to get better.
