Safe for a Promise

After much straining, they had only gotten the door open enough to see Jenny trying to grab something out of the flames that were consuming her compartment.
“Jenny! Help us open this!” Jon called, his bald head glistening with sweat.
“I dropped my grandma’s locket! I can’t leave without it!” Jenny cried, tears running down her cheeks.
Jenny!” Tom shouted, causing her to turn to them. He took a deep breath. “I promise you, I will find the locket. But we have to make sure you can get out first!”
Jenny shook, looking back at the flames, then back at the two men. She nodded and began to push at the door.
Soon Jenny was able to slip into their compartment.
“You get her out of here, I’ll be right behind you,” Tom said, going into Jenny’s compartment, and immedeatly feeling the heat.
“Are you insane?!” Jon shouted over the screams of other passangers.
“I never break a promise,” Tom said, turning to search the compartment. “I’ll be after you as soon as I find it.”
