My Very Own Special Place: Place for a Challenge Mistress Elsha Hawk's Challenge
“A special place all my own,” I thought grudgingly, “everyone else has one.” I kicked at the ground as I trudged along.
Spotting a crosstie holding back the grass covered terrace, I sat. Propping my elbows on my knees and resting my chin on closed fist. I dove deep in thought.
Special places. One that would be mine and mine alone. Noone could share it or it wouldn’t be “special.” I could contemplate the problems of the world and the answers to the universe.
It would be my palace of peace, when things go awry. I could escape the insanity of the ratrace or just chill in mind numbing nothingness bliss.
In my life, my place cannot be anywhere. It could not be an exact spot. I don’t have the time to drop everything and go to a specific location when I have the need to be there. No, that won’t do.
It was then and there I decided, back straight, smile on my face: my special place, is within the recesses and folds of the grey matter held safely and securely by the boney structure of my skull.
