Last Night

Just once more. She thought to herself as she slipped into the room. Yes, this was the last time she would see the room like this. The covers were still on the bed, and the couch was there. She could even hear the water still dripping from the sink. The incredible veiw of the city still glistened through the window. The scent of pine still filled the air.

His room
She moved slowly, solemnly not wanting to let the moment go too fast. Absently she ran her hands over the chair and table. She settled onto the couch. The same couch where she had told him she loved him. Had it really only been three years? She wondered. Then her feet lead her to the corner where his bed stood.

Just this one last time She thought
She climbed up gently and laid down on the bed for the last time. How many nights had they lain here together? Memories of all the mornings and evenings she had shared with him played on her eyelids.

Tomorrow this will all be packed up. So tonight let me dream And she drifted to sleep
