Not Quite Right
“Destiny. Destiny? Destiny!”
Someone was calling my name. I registered the fact numbly, opening my eyes lazily to glance at whoever it was.
My Fairy Godmother was bending over me, with a worried expression on her face. I sat up, about to ask what was the matter.
But at that moment I knew. When I sat up, I realized that it was taking a ton of effort to push myself up. Something was holding me back.
And then I heard an ever-so-soft flutter. Hardly daring to believe it, I slowly turned and looked over my shoulder…
...And I screamed, I screamed for the world to hear. With a yell like that, I could substitute for the fire department’s siren.
Because what I saw wasn’t quite what I expected.
