Oooh…eerily beautiful picture and I like the prologue feel to the Ficlet. Leaves me wondering “what’s next?” I like how you’ve displayed that your character is average and typical by using the double negative in the first line.

Living in the South is no excuse for double negatives. At least you didn’t say y’all or fixin’. Lovely story, and I can definitely relate to that dislike of the cold.
