“I WANT TO COME !” cried Petunia, as Frank turned up his hearing aid.
“Well, gosh,” he said, “You don’t have to yell. You can come.” Thus, the 3 of them set off to the pageant. Frank tossed his keys to the valet guy. “Park it. You don’t get a tip. RESPECT YOUR ELDERS !” he preached as he wobbled into the auditorium.
Frank went over to the sign that said ‘REGISTER HERE ’ and wrote his name down. When he had his back turned, Rose wheeled over and registered too.
About 20 minutes later, the pageant began, and Rose had fallen asleep backstage. A man named Elijah was up first. “Here comes Elijah Birkley,” the annoncer proclaimed, “He was born December 20, 1926. Elijah waddled across the stage. About twenty people went, and then it was Frank’s turn.”Frankfurt Dominismith,” The announcer stated, “Born October 12, 1908. Frank hobbled up the stairs, across the stage, and then down again, panting when he reached the last step. It was Rose’s turn, and at last she had woken up.
