Never scar free (part1)

No one goes through life scar free, I know you hide your scars like me.
Your back is pressed against a wall as a lie creeps across your face in the form of a smile.
In your mind you tell yourself you’ll be fine in just a while…
You sit in the center of your friends, but you feel like you’re on the outside once again.
Some one tells a joke, and at the right time you laugh and nod your head. All the while wishing yourself dead.
Why can’t your friends understand you?
Maybe you don’t want to explain?
Maybe it hurts too much to talk about the pain?

You raise your eyes, looking for a beacon of light, to take you from your dreary place inside. Your eyes come to rest on the person seated not too far from you. For a second longer then you should you stare, silently gasping for air. You see them tugging at their sleeves, they see you tug at yours. And all too quickly they break the connection by looking down. Only then do you remember to breathe, you blink, then you look around…
